Xendurance athlete, Yvonne Van Vlerkin claims her third Challenge Roth

Eyes on the finish line, Xendurance athlete Yvonne Van Vlerkin claimed her third Challenge Roth title last weekend with an 8:50:53 time.

Van Vlerken, who had thought her race might be ruined after a seemingly severe reaction to an insect bite earlier in the week, was just glad to take the win.

"I think there's just one word for today—gratitude," said Van Vlerken. "I'm just very happy I could put it together, even when the circumstances were not ideal. I felt really good until I had a bee sting earlier in the week which caused me a fever...The spectators wouldn't let me walk, every time I wanted to they yelled at me to keep going! They carried me through."

Yvonne is a Dutch Pro-Triathlete that resides in Schwarzach/Austria and belongs to the best female athletes worldwide on the triathlon & duathlon long- and middle- distance.

The Flying Blonde Dutch Girl, or also called the "Dutch Dynamo", by her coach Siri Lindley, competes around the world at a furious pace. As a former World & European Champion Duathlete, Yvonne burst onto the Triathlon scene in the year 2007, winning her first long distance race at Challenge Roth in a time of 8.51. This was also around the time that Yvonne started using xendurance products. Since then, Yvonne has won many Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races, had 3 World Records, Ironman, Ironman 70.3 & Powerman.
