Additional Privacy Information for Rhode Island Residents
This section offers supplemental details for Rhode Island residents as required by the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act (RIDTPPA). All terms in this section carry the same definitions as those used in the RIDTPPA. This notice does not apply to data that falls outside the definition of “personal data,” such as de-identified or publicly available information under the Act.
Targeted Advertising and Data Sharing
We use personal data—including identifiers, internet activity, commercial information, and location data—to support targeted advertising. This helps us deliver ads that are more relevant to your interests.
You can opt out of these processing activities here.
We do not receive any monetary or other valuable consideration in exchange for personal data, and therefore, we do not “sell” your data as defined by the RIDTPPA.
Profiling
We do not engage in profiling that supports decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on consumers.
Your RIDTPPA Privacy Rights
You can exercise the rights described below by submitting a Privacy Request here.
Right to Access
You may confirm whether we are processing your personal data and request access to it. You also have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format that enables you to transmit it to another entity.
We may charge a reasonable fee if you submit access requests more than once in a 12-month period, or if we determine your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Right to Delete
You may request deletion of any personal data we have collected about you. We will permanently remove this data from our records and instruct our service providers to do the same, except where retention is permitted by law. Any data we retain for allowed purposes will not be used for other processing activities.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your RIDTPPA rights. This includes not charging different prices or providing a lower quality of goods or services.
We also will not retaliate against you as an employee, job applicant, or independent contractor for asserting these privacy rights.
Right to Opt Out
Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell your personal data under the RIDTPPA definition.
Targeted Advertising: You may opt out here.
Profiling: We do not profile in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf, including through tools like browser settings or global device signals. We will honor valid requests once we can verify both your identity and the agent’s authority.
Opt-Out Preference Signals
Your browser or device settings may send automatic opt-out signals (such as Global Privacy Control – GPC). When we receive such a signal, we honor it by updating your browser’s privacy string so that respecting third parties will not track your activity on our site. These opt-out signals are tied only to your browser identifier and are not linked to any account, as we do not associate the two. You can learn how to enable GPC through your browser or extension settings.
Right to Correct
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data, considering the nature of the data and how we use it.
Right to Withdraw Consent
If we process your personal data based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by submitting a request here.
Verifying Your Request
After receiving your request, we will verify your identity using the information we have on file. If we cannot verify your identity, we may request additional details. If verification is not possible despite reasonable efforts, we may deny the request. Verification is not required for opt-out requests, but we may deny fraudulent ones when we have a good-faith, reasonable, and documented basis to do so.
Right to Appeal
If we decline to act on your privacy request, you may appeal the decision within a reasonable period, no later than 90 days after our response. To appeal, click here and title your email with “Appeal a Decision”.
If you are unable to resolve the matter with us directly and believe your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.
